And the winners are …

There aren’t many award programs that would pit a $41 million business school against a $1.3 million bridge project, but that’s the beauty of The Daily Reporter and Wisconsin Builder’s Top Projects awards.

We recognize the best jobs in the state with little regard to beauty, cost or other surface-level things.

Instead, Top Projects recognizes the developments that have made a difference in their communities, triumphed despite tricky circumstances or introduced a new technique to the industry, among other reasons.

This year’s 30 winners include projects from across the state in a variety of sectors: health care, education, religious, commercial, residential and infrastructure.

At our April 21 awards dinner, we will name the Top Top Project of 2009, in addition to celebrating all Top Project winners for 2009. And each of the winning projects will be featured in the May issue of Wisconsin Builder.

Competition was fierce: we received the highest number of entries ever this year. I’m excited about all of the projects that were chosen and I hope you’ll join me in congratulating the hard work that went into each of them.

This year’s Top Projects are:

American Transmission Co. Corporate Headquarters, Pewaukee
